The Art is in front of us!

Almost every time we walk in a noisy and lively city that never sleeps, it is not uncommon to meet the so-called street musicians who keep passers-by company.

Whether they are individuals singing or not accompanied by a musical instrument or groups of people it is definitely something that will probably catch our attention even for a few seconds and we will approach so that we can enjoy the magic of their music. . It stems from the freedom of the soul, from the endless love for music, the effort to resist the misery of cities and to give life and sound to the colorless stations, streets, gray buildings.

However…

Many times we take their existence for granted, we ignore their presence and their enormous offer. The street musicians give a special note to our walks, our movements, take us out of the boredom of everyday life, and are always there, haughty and happy that one can appreciate their work.

Of course,

for the street musicians, we have formed a very specific image and we often find that there are few who are different and to whom we may stand for a while slowing down our pace. But we do not recognize how difficult it is for them to play with so many obstacles around them. Noises, continuous flow of cars, people. In any case, they enchant. Possibly everyone attracts a different audience. Which will stand around him and admire him and which will give him the impetus to continue, which will recognize the value of music.

It is also not uncommon for street musicians to be prosecuted, being targeted by the authorities. They, therefore, need some protection, we may need to realize how necessary they are today and always. They are role models, they play their music selflessly, they do not seem to be bothered by anything that happens around them and they are not interested in the money that some passers-by might leave them. They enjoy every moment, they do not stop but walk with the flow of things.

They preserve art and tradition, preserve diversity in music and everywhere. They prefer to remain dignified and keep their music intact and unscathed from commercialization.

In this case, the street musicians are people who follow the music on its never-ending journey, promoting a different and incomparably interesting genre that probably has absolutely nothing to do with the music we hear on online platforms. Many times they may go unnoticed since we are used to them being always there, at a specific point where each of them is constantly playing their melody.

It’s not like that…

Even people who have nothing to do with music but just listen to it, very often appreciate the huge work of street musicians. How important their presence becomes for all of us passers-by. They give sound to the noise of the people who pass, essence, a character in each street, station.

Let us consider for a moment how empty the streets would look if they did not exist. If one day they decide to stop playing in public and keep their music through closed windows. How boring our journey might be without them, full of incomprehensible, annoying noises. Probably nothing can replace them. We should probably not underestimate them, even if we do not like what they represent, but respect their diversity. We should not expect that we will always meet musicians the same as those featured in the media and social networking. But, we will also meet spontaneous, raw musicians.
