Elias Karellas started his career in the shadow theater in 1996. In 2002, for the first time in Greece, he gives a renewed breath to the Theater for Children and Youth, creating pioneering performances where the actor, the shadow, the doll coexist harmoniously on stage. the mask, multimedia, and live music. As a shadow actor and director, he has now acquired a unique identity in the field of entertainment.

At the Athens Concert Hall, he directs and participates since 2013 in the established cycle of events “Christmas at the Concert Hall”. At the same time, from November 2018, the Athens Concert Hall, recognizing the value and role of tradition, was created for the first time in Greece in collaboration with Elias Karellas, a hangout for the shadow theater, “Karagiozis’s house”.

He has also participated in productions at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, at the Summer Nostos Festival. He also directed and participated in performances at the Onassis Foundation, in collaboration with the “Greek Design”, at the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, at the Kappa, Proskinio, Rialto, and other theaters.

For his performances he has been honored with awards in Greece and abroad. Participates in festivals and events across the country. Organizes workshops and seminars for shadow theater for students and teachers. From time to time he participates in radio and television productions. He has been collaborating with Susaeta Publications since 2015.
